A. Karamitsos publications placed on sale John G. Coundouros' new book titled "Large Hermes Head, Characteristic marks of all positions in the plate of the values of 5. 10, 20, 40 & 80 lepta". [21.9.2011]

 

A new book on Large Hermes Heads

The Royal Philatelic Society London announced the publication of Constantin Mattheos' book, titled "Introduction to the Large Hermes Heads of Greece 1861-1886". The 176-pages book is available directly from the RPSL priced at 39,00 GBP. [13.9.2011]

 

The 150th anniversary festivities calendar

The three-day (30 September - 2 October) festivities calendar for the 150th anniversary of the first Greek stamp was finalized. [8.7.2011]

 

Ordem de Mérito Filatélico

The past-President of the Hellenic Philotelic Society, Anthony Virvilis, was honoured by the Portuguese Philatelic Federation with the Ordem de Mérito Filatélico for his excellent work during his long philatelic presence. [21.6.2011]

 

The Grand Prix in the French National Exhibition "Championnat 2011"

HPS member, Michèle Chauvet, RDP, was awarded the Grand Prix in Philatelic Literature of the French "Championnat 2011" with her three-volume literature entry "Les colonies françaises - Tarifs et service postal 1848-1878". [13.6.2011]

 

Premio internationale d' Arte Filatelica

The Jury of the 41st Asiago International Award for Philatelic Art (Vicenza, Italy) awarded the Prize of the Olympic Academy for the year 2010 to the Hellenic Post for the Europa 2010 stamps. The stamps were designed by Ms. Myrsini Vardopoulou. [6.6.2011]

 

The 2009 subsidies to the philatelic clubs by the Hellenic Post

The Hellenic Post will financially support organized philately in Greece with 11,850 euro in cash and 18,000 euro in postage stamps. This is the total contribution by the Hellenic Post to the philatelic clubs for the year 2009. [25.5.2011]
