STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The objective of the H.P.S. is:

- The promotion within the Helladic area of the hobby of stamp collecting.

- The orientation of the collecting habit of Greek philatelists towards the Greek stamp and the strengthening of their trust towards it.

- Continuous work on the development of the interest on Greek stamps shown by foreign collectors.

- Close study and research in all subjects concerning Greek stamps and the Greek postal history.

- The spreading of the results of philatelic research within the Greek and the international philatelic community. 

The means and the methods to be used will be the following:

- By rendering the maximum possible service to the Hellenic State, or by suggesting anything which may prove to be useful concerning the issue, and the circulation of Greek stamps.

- By establishing the H.P.S. as a relationships' center between Greek stamp collectors.

- By the systematic operation of the small packet service during the operating hours of tthe Sociey's premises and by organizing philatelic meetings periodically, with subject the facilitation of philatelic transactions between the Society's members.

- By seeking contact and cooperation with any philatelic organization, with which the Society considers that it may prove to be useful.

- By organizing a special phlilatelic library and by continuous and close following of the international philatelic scene.

- By issuing a specific journal, as the official voice of the Society, and by publishing of articles in Greek and foreign publications.

- By scheduling announcements, lectures and exhibitions under the patronage of the Society's Administrative Committee.

- By using the internet technology for promoting the Society's objective and spreading Greek stamp collecting and Greek postal history to a wider audience, especially the young ages.
